San Francisco 49ers

$5.50

Defence, defence, defence.

The defensive masters have picked up where they left off in the 2023/23 season, with just 68 points against from their first five games, leading them to an undefeated start to the year and $5.50 favouritism.

While Brock Purdy leads a talented offensive unit, defence is where the 49ers excel, with new coordinator Steve Wilks working with eight return starters and adding elite defensive tackle Javon Hargrave.

On the other hand, they’ve started the season in scintillating fashion from a scoring perspective with five 30+ games in a row. This includes 42 and four Purdy TDs against the Cowboys.

These guys are primed for a tilt at their first Super Bowl title since 1995.

Kansas City Chiefs

$6.00

The reigning Super Bowl champions and Taylor Swift’s #1 side are one of the best-backed teams to take out this year’s title, with punters able to snap them up for $6.

After losing their first game of the season to Detroit, the current AFC West leaders have pieced together four consecutive wins against the Jaguars, Bears, Jets and Vikings. While they’ve only allowed 80 points against, the Chiefs rank just seventh for scoring – a long way off from their league-leading performances last season.

Star QB and MVP favourite Patrick Mahomes has started the season slower than he would’ve liked (7th for passing and 6th for TDs). However, with the Chiefs’ numerous playmakers at WR and Travis Kelce’s hot form, expect Mahomes and Andy Reid’s team to feature at the season’s pointy end.

Philadelphia Eagles

$7.00

Another team with an unbeaten start to the season, the Philadelphia Eagles, will be hellbent on crushing the NFC East as they search for their first title since 2018.

After finishing last season 3rd in total yards, 5th in rushing yards and 9th in passing yards, it’s easy to see that Jalen Hurts and an offense based on the run-pass option is the key to the Eagles’ hopes.

They’ve already posted 23+ points in every game, with season-highs of 34 against the Vikings and Commanders.

A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and D’Andre Swift provide a high-quality support cast for Hurts, making the $7 on offer for the Eagles a very enticing prospect.

Miami Dolphins

$11.00

Tua Tagovailoa is not only the second-favourite for NFL Comeback Player of the Year, but the Dolphins’ star QB is currently trading at $6 in the Regular Season MVP markets.

It’s been a blistering start to the season for Miami and Tagovailoa, with their 4-1 start based mainly on his league-leading 1614 passing yards and 11 TDs. After injury curtailed his year in 2022, a healthy Tagovailoa will ensure Miami can stretch any defense with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

181 points from five games – including 70 against the Broncos – it’s safe to say the Dolphins are well and truly on their way to dominating the scoreboard again.
