Imperatriz $1.75

Imperatriz broke the track record fresh!

Her second-up record is near faultless, and she is undefeated at ‘The Valley’.

From barrier five, she will trail the expected hot tempo, and if she can reproduce the same turn of foot as her first-up performance, they can’t beat her!

With even luck in transit, she will lead the field back into the mounting yard.

Asfoora was an impressive first-up winner at Caulfield.

She showed grit and determination late, and I suspect she is ready to produce a career-defining campaign.

She will jump and lead from the wide gate, and if she can pinch some cheap sectionals throughout, she will look the winner on straightening.

Verdad $6.00

Verdad was a dominant winner on debut.

The Justify gelding was soft in the market fresh. However, he put his rivals to the sword a long way from home.

From barrier four, he can sit in the box seat, and if the gaps appear as the field runs past the school, I expect him to figure in the finish.

A talented three-year-old with a big future!

Griff flew from the clouds to win at Flemington on his latest outing.

It turned heads, and he broke all the on-course clocks.

The step out to 1600m is advantageous, and if he can find a spot in the running line from the awkward barrier, he can make his presence felt late.

It may pay dividends to watch for any significant market moves.

Magical Land $11.00/$3.50

Magical Land is ready to win!

Both starts of this campaign have been good without threatening, and the drop back to 1500m is ideal at this stage of his preparation.

The Frankel gelding should get the run of the race from the perfect inside draw, and I suspect Moonee Valley will suit his racing pattern and style.

Over the odds!

Boognish will start favourite after an ultra-consistent campaign.

The Sooboog mare is knocking on the door, and she gets her chance to break through in a very winnable Benchmark 70 event.

From barrier four, she will roll forward and take luck out of the equation, and if she is left to her own devices on top of the speed, it could be curtains a long way from home.

QUADDIE

$65 for 100%

Griff, Fistsoffury, Mojave Desert, King Of Fighters and Verdad will all be prominent in the Stutt Stakes.

It’s an open edition of the race, and a blowout result here wouldn’t surprise.

Amelia’s Jewel looks a moral in the Stocks Stakes, while Imperatriz has one hoof on the till in the night’s feature event, the Group 1 Moir Stakes.

We have gone extremely wide in the lucky last, looking for some value and insurance.
