Manly Sea Eagles vs. North Queensland
Head-To-Head
In a battle of 9th vs 10th, it may seem slightly risky to take the away side, but we’re that confident in North Queensland’s form that we’re taking them at $1.63 this weekend.
The Cowboys were relentless in their last clash against Wests, piling on 13 tries and 74 points in one of the great NRL thumpings. Murray Taulagi drove home three tries, while Scott Drinkwater, Semi Valemei and Valentine Holmes scored a double each. It made it four straight wins for the Cowboys against Wests, Souths, Penrith, and the Storm.
A lot will depend on the availability of Origin stars, but Holmes, Taulagi and Jeremiah Nanai have been named to back up, while Daly Cherry-Evans and Jake Trbojevic will be closely monitored for Manly.
Suggested Bet:
North Queensland to win at $1.63
Newcastle Knights vs. Wests Tigers
Handicap
The Knights are $1.29 in the head-to-head market for a reason – they should win this game. And based on recent form, they should win it well.
Newcastle put on a clinic in their most recent outing against the Bulldogs in Round 18, delivering a 66-point demolition on the back of a treble from Bradman Best. Finals are certainly still on the cards for Adam O’Brien’s men, but they need to win games like this to ensure they are a sniff for the bottom half of the eight.
As for the Tigers, they will welcome Api Koroisau back from a broken jaw, but their form still indicates this could be a blowout.
Suggested Bet:
Newcastle (-10.5) at $1.90
Selwyn Cobbo (Broncos)
Anytime Scorer
How is our man trading at $1.67?
The Broncos and Maroons star has been on fire lately with 14 tries from his 15 games, including a hat-trick against the Dolphins in Round 18 and a double against the Knights just three weeks earlier.
The Broncos are primed to take control against the 15th-placed Bulldogs, and it will undoubtedly be Cobbo who is leading the way.
Suggested Bet:
S. Cobbo anytime try scorer at $1.67
Parramatta vs. Gold Coast
Same Game Multi
The Eels were absolutely flying prior to last week’s 36-point loss to the Warriors, with five straight making them one of the form sides of the competition.
Things should certainly get back to normal this week with the return of Clint Gutherson, Mitch Moses and Reagan Campbell-Gillard from Origin duties.
Gutherson has been on fire in his past three NRL games with six tries, while the Eels have won seven of their past eight games against the Titans.
Free-flowing, high-scoring and another one for the Eels.
- Leg 1: Parramatta to win
- Leg 2: Over 50.5
- Leg 3: C. Gutherson anytime try scorer
- Leg 4: A Khan-Pereira anytime try scorer
- Total: $8.00
