Zoumon $3.60

Zoumon looks well placed here after a dominant last-start victory at Rosehill.

Both runs this preparation have been impressive, and the Zoustar gelding is ready to explode third-up from a spell.

The longer trip is advantageous, and I suspect this has been a long-range target for the rising five-year-old.

The Waterhouse and Bott polish must be respected, and I expect the flood of money to continue until the barriers open.

The awkward alley is his biggest obstacle.

Luncies will have supporters after a tough and brave last-start victory at Eagle Farm.

His record at the 2400m is first-class, and the Iffraaj gelding is arguably in career-best form.

The allocated weight and wide barrier draw are among the primary concerns.

Munhamek $4.40

Munhamek has been ultra-impressive in 2023.

The Dark Angel gelding doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and he has been incredibly well placed by the Nick Ryan camp throughout his career.

Two starts back he was a dominant winner at Eagle Farm over 1500m, while he was game in defeat at his latest outing behind a smart one.

The drop back to 1400m could prove the winning difference, and I suspect he will appreciate the longer and wider Caloundra home straight.

From barrier eleven he will sit midfield with cover, and if he can stay in touch with the leaders during the middle stages of the race, I expect him to figure in the finish.

His fate may be decided during the first furlong.

Brookspire looks over the odds.

Her first-up performance was better than it reads in the form guide, and she strips fitter here.

She is a second-up specialist, and she will appreciate the step out in distance.

The car park draw is the primary concern.

Blacklog $9.00/$3.00

Blacklog can run a drum at a decent price!

The Tavistock gelding will appreciate the step out to 1800m, and the rising eight-year-old can box seat from the ideal inside barrier draw.

The 3kg apprentice claim puts him into all winning conversations, and his latest performance over the mile was ominous.

If the old boy can angle off the rail at the right time, he can gobble up his rivals in the shadows.

Over the odds!

Warp Speed will start favourite after a consistent campaign.

The Star Witness gelding is rock-hard fit, and the longer trip plays in his favour.

From barrier three he can roll forward and take luck out of the equation, and if he is allowed to dictate the tempo throughout, he will look the winner approaching the long Caloundra home straight.

If he doesn’t get his own way in front, he may be a sitting duck late!

QUADDIE

Q

$60 for 500%

Zoumon can get punters off to a flyer in the opening leg of the quaddie.

Our best bet looks well placed in a very thin edition of the Caloundra Cup.

We have a handful of selections in a competitive running of the Winx Guineas, while our next best Munhamek looks poised to strike in the Glasshouse Handicap.

Goldsborough and Rubiquitous can fight it out in the lucky last.

Best of luck!
