Charterhouse $4.60

Charterhouse caught the eye in his Australian debut.

The Charming Thought gelding saved the line late over 1400m at headquarters, and his late sectionals broke most clocks on course.

The 1600m is ideal at this stage of his preparation, and his international form reads incredibly well for this event.

His record at the distance speaks volumes, and I suspect the Maher and Eustace camp has had this race in mind for some time.

The wide barrier is his biggest obstacle.

King Magnus is over the odds after recording back-to-back victories.

He won from an impossible position two starts back, and his recent victory was first-class, gritty, and resilient.

The allocated weight is the primary concern.

It'sourtime $5.00

 It’sourtime is a marvel.

The Time For War gelding was game in defeat last start at his first attempt over 1400m, and he was a stunning winner prior over the famous Flemington straight-six.

The track specialist looks poised after a little freshen-up, and he has been well-supported since markets opened.

The Group 1 competitive five-year-old doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and he looks well placed here meeting easier opposition.

With even luck in transit, I expect him to fight out the finish.

Sigh is flying this campaign.

The No Nay Never mare will start favourite after two strong wins this preparation at Flemington over 1100m.

The step out in distance is advantageous, and she should be rock-hard fit after her recent outings.

There has been a flood of money for the Peter Moody-trained runner in early betting, and It may pay dividends to watch for any further market support.

Best Roughie - Flemington Race 2

Silverina $13.00/$3.40

Silverina can resume a winner at a decent price.

The former NZ galloper has looked good in recent jump-outs and barrier trials, and she is a winner fresh previously.

The Contributer mare handles all track conditions, and her international form puts her into all winning conversations.

From the middle gate, she will sit midfield with cover, and if she is presented with her run at the right time, she can figure in the finish.

She may be suited over a longer journey.

Pacific Ruby will start favourite after a dominant win at Sandown in a hot-form race.

She is going through her grades successfully, and she is building an enviable career record.

The Kermadec mare deserves her shot at this level, and she will eat up every inch of the 1400m from the perfect inside barrier.

The allocated weight is the primary concern.

QUADDIE

Q

$96 for 100%

First Immortal, My Brothers Keeper, Verifier, and Whakamana, fly the flag for us in the opening leg of the quaddie.

It looks like the toughest event on the program, and I am expecting a bold performance from the gallopers mentioned.

It’sourtime, Nicolini Vito, and Sigh will fight out the Sprint Final, while the cream will rise to the top with King Magnus and Charterhouse in the Winter Championship Final.

Lounge Bar Rubi, Brung King, Lethal Thoughts, and Golden Path, will decide our quaddie hopes and dreams in the lucky last.

Best of luck!
