Waihaha Falls $4.80

Waihaha Falls looks poised to strike!

The Sacred Falls gelding has been good without winning this campaign, and he finds a winnable race on Saturday.

His recent freshen-up and barrier trial will have him cherry ripe for this event, and if he can find some cover from the awkward barrier, he will power over his rivals in the shadows.

The step out in the distance looks ideal at this stage of his preparation, and I suspect he has a fitness edge over most of his opponents.

The length between victories is the primary concern.

Tycoonist can improve here after a disappointing first-up performance at Randwick.

The 1400m is advantageous; he strips fitter after his recent outing.

His second-up record must be respected, and the Chris Waller polish can never be underestimated.

Over the odds!

Iowna Merc $2.90

Iowna Merc is flying this campaign!

The Winning Rupert gelding is building the picket fence next to his name, and he looks well placed meeting similar opposition.

He is undefeated at the distance, and after the 3kg apprentice claim, he looks hard to toss!

From barrier five, he will roll forward and take up his favourite role as race leader, and if he is allowed to dictate throughout, he will lead them in a merry dance.

Bjorn Baker is currently training winners for fun, and I suspect this race will be another successful event for the well-loved and energetic horsemen.

Lady Brook can run a drum at cricket-score odds.

Both runs this campaign have caught the eye, and I expect her to peak third-up from a spell on Saturday.

The 1100m is ideal, and from the perfect inside draw, she will be able to sit in the box seat.

She is ready to win!

Aristonous $13.00/$4.00

Aristonous was an impressive winner at Newcastle on his Australian debut.

His best international form reads incredibly well for this event, and he looks well-placed to meet easier opposition.

He can sit midfield with cover from barrier thirteen, and if he is presented with his run at the right time, he may prove hard to hold out.

The Saonoi gelding has further natural improvement to come, and if he can notch up another win on Saturday, punters will stand up and take notice.

It may pay dividends to watch for any significant market support.

African Daisy will start favourite after producing two eye-catching performances for the preparation.

The step out to the mile is ideal at this stage of her campaign, and I expect her to explode third-up from a spell on Saturday.

The tricky barrier is the only deterrent.

QUADDIE

Q

$45 for 300%

I am thrilled to go wide in the opening leg of the quaddie.

It’s a competitive event, and nothing surprises me!

Our best bet, Waihaha Falls, can win the day’s feature event, the Civic Stakes, while Iowna Merc looks hard to toss in the Furphy Benchmark 78.

Green Shadows can finish the day on a winning note for punters.

Best of luck!
