Best Bet - Belmont Race 6

1

Catalpa $2.20

Catalpa is flying this campaign.

The Rios gelding was too strong for his rivals first-up from a spell, while he was game in defeat at his latest outing.

From the middle gate, I expect the talented four-year-old to stalk the speed, and if the leaders leave the kettle on during the early stages of the race, he will prove too strong late.

Trade War comes into all winning conversations after producing an eye-catching run fresh.

The Trade Fair gelding looks suited to stepping out in the distance, and the apprentice claim could prove a winning move.

Queen Alina will have supporters first up.

Her previous campaign was ultra-consistent, and she will be thereabouts.

Next Best - Belmont Race 7

Cobbanco $5.00

Cobbanco is racing in great spirit.

The Playing God gelding hasn’t finished outside the quinella this preparation, and he looks well placed on Saturday, meeting easier opposition.

From a middle gate, he can drift back and find some cover, and if he is presented at the right time, he can finish over the top of his rivals.

The 2kg apprentice claim strengthens his case!

Nod And Smile can run well despite jumping from the carpark.

The My Admiration gelding looks to have plenty of upside, and he has been turning heads this campaign.

If he can take the next step in class, he may be hard to hold out.

Kings Sicario will have supporters.

The King’s Troop gelding is building a consistent career record, and I suspect he still has natural improvement to come this campaign.

He needs to convert solid performances into victories!

Best Roughie - Belmont Race 4

Ace Command $9.00/$3.00

Ace Command has been well-backed since markets opened.

The Vert De Grece gelding has been knocking on the door all campaign, and he looks well placed at Benchmark 70 level.

From the middle gate, I expect him to roll forward and make his own luck, and if he is left to his own devices on top of the speed, he may prove hard to run down.

He is rock-hard fit and can give a good sight at a price!

Knot Secret will start favourite after an eye-catching run at his latest outing.

The So Secret gelding produced a blistering turn of foot, and he broke most clocks on course in the process.

He is building an impressive career record, and with even luck in transit, I expect him to figure in the shadows.

The length of his preparation may be his undoing.

QUADDIE

Q

$90 for 100%

The best bet Catalpa can get our quaddie off to a flyer!

The talented four-year-old looks to have a big future and looks moral on Saturday.

Cobbanco, Kings Sicario, and Nod And Smile have the race between them in the second leg, while Bustler and The Velvet Queen look the obvious selections in the penultimate event.

Nothing would surprise me in the lucky last!
