Best Bet - Geelong Race 1

Karalee Rocks $3.00

Karalee Rocks looked smart in a recent trial.

The Flying Artie mare resumes her career with a new stable, and I expect her to be fully wound up for a first-up tilt.

She is undefeated fresh, and looks poised to strike from an inside barrier.

The Damien Oliver and Lindsay Smith combination must be respected, and she has been well-backed since markets opened.

Her record at the distance is the primary concern.

The Javelin can run well despite the double-figure quote.

He has won three out of his last four races and can make his own luck on top of the speed.

The class rise is the biggest obstacle for the Unencumbered gelding.

It'sourtime $8.50

It’sourtime doesn’t know how to run a bad race.

He looked like he needed the run at Flemington first-up, and his previous second-up form reads well for this event.

The Time For War gelding always looms to win. However, he can find trouble in running or snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.

The 1100m looks ideal, and I expect him to look the winner inside the final furlong.

Barrier fourteen is the primary concern.

Veranskova was brilliant fresh at Flemington.

The Written Tycoon mare has won second-up previously, and her record at the distance puts her into all winning conversations.

I expect her to figure in the finish with even luck in transit.

Best Roughie - Geelong Race 3

Commodity $17/$5.00

Commodity was good last start at Benella without winning.

The Capitalist gelding peaked on his run late, and he gets his chance to atone on Friday against a similar field.

He strips fitter here and is ready to explode third-up from a spell.

The awkward barrier draw is the primary concern.

Empressive Enuff will start favourite after a dominant last-start win at Bairnsdale.

The Rich Enuff gelding will sit on top of the speed, and if he can pinch some cheap sectionals during the middle stages, the race could be over at the furlong.

He is rock-hard fit, and there has been a significant push for him since markets opened.

QUADDIE

Q

$105 for 50%

Cap De Joie will make or break our quaddie in the opening leg.

She looks one of the better bets on a very competitive and open program.

We have gone wide in the middle legs, while Claidheamh Mor and Greenhill Prince are our bankers in the last.

Best of luck!
