Flemington March 25th, Tips and Previews

Benedetta $3.20

Benedetta is a winning machine!

The Hellbent filly absolutely destroyed her rivals in the Inglis Sprint, and her performance was backed up on the clock.

On times and margins, she would have finished near the placings in this year’s edition of the Newmarket Handicap.

She is aiming for five wins on the trot, and with even luck, I expect her to continue on her winning ways.

The inside barrier draw is the primary concern.

What You Need was ultra-impressive, winning first-up after a long break.

The Supido colt looked a run short in the mountain yard, and further natural improvement is expected in this campaign.

He has been well-backed since markets opened, and barrier 17 is ideal for the straight-six event.

A flat second-up run is the biggest concern.

Soulcombe $5.00

Soulcombe is poised to strike third-up from a spell.

The one-time Melbourne Cup favourite was impressive during the spring, while his autumn campaign has been slightly disappointing to date.

The Frankel gelding gets out to a suitable distance, and he should be fit enough to challenge at this stage of his preparation.

He is a winner at the track and distance, and I am expecting a peak performance on Saturday.

The new kid on the block, Goldman, comes to Melbourne up and about after his eye-catching win at Warwick Farm.

The Verdi gelding is undefeated in Australia, and he will make his own luck on top of the speed.

Unraced at 2600m is the primary concern.

Best Roughie - Flemington Race 3

Tycoon Bec $17/$5

Tycoon Bec was a dominant winner last start at Sandown.

She was strong through the line and put a margin on her rivals late.

The Written Tycoon mare has tasted success at Flemington previously, and the 2000m looks ideal at this stage of her campaign.

The apprentice claim could prove a winning move, and the Matthew Cumani polish must be respected.

Barrier 17 is the biggest hurdle.

Kettle Hill should be a politician.

The Gleneagles gelding always seems to be a good betting proposition. However, there are always excuses.

He should be rock-hard fit, and if he is ever going to salute the judge in Australia, Saturday could be the day.

Take on trust!

Benedetta may determine our quaddie fate in the opening leg.

The Hellbent filly is flying this preparation and building a nice picket fence next to her name!

We have gone wide in the middle legs, while the talented Treporti is our anchor in the lucky last.
