Manly Sea Eagles vs. Parramatta Eels
March 16th
The Manly Sea Eagles will return from the Round Two bye with a spring in their step at $1.70 with Bet Nation after dispatching the Canterbury Bulldogs by 25 points in their season opener.
Daly Cherry-Evans put the entire competition on notice with three second-half tries, resulting in the Sea Eagles sitting on top of the NRL ladder.
As for the Eels, it could be more chalk and cheese as they occupy the 16th spot on the ladder following their recent loss to the Sharks, 26-30.
Parramatta came out firing with two tries in the first five minutes before the Sharks wrestled back the momentum and ran over the top of last year’s grand finalists.
This is desperate times for the Eels, but the Manly’s pre-season form into their Round One blitz means we’ll be sticking with the home side.
Suggested Bet:
Manly Sea Eagles to win at $1.71
Newcastle Knights vs. Dolphins
March 17th
Ok, how long can this last?
The Dolphins are taking the NRL world by storm with two wins from their first two games, including a 20-14 victory over the Raiders.
Trailing by 12 points at the 34-minute mark, Wayne Bennett’s men turned the tables with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow scoring the first of his two tries. It was all one-way traffic from there as the Dolphins piled on 20 of the last 22 points of the match. They currently sit in the second spot on the ladder.
They’ll be coming up against the Newcastle Knights as $1.53 favourites, despite the Knights’ 12-14 win over the Wests Tigers.
Dominic Young starred for the winners with a try on each side of the half-time break while also running for a team-high 177m.
At this point, we’re jumping on the Dolphins’ bandwagon until they give us a reason to get off.
Suggested Bet:
H. Tabuai-Fidow anytime try scorer at $2.10
Sydney Roosters vs. South Sydney
March 17th
After a shock Round One loss to the Dolphins, the Sydney Roosters returned to form with an impressive 20-10 victory over the NZ Warriors.
Jaxson Paulo led the charge from a scoring perspective with two of the Roosters’ three tries, while Tohu Harris laid a game-high 60 tackles.
It won’t be nearly as easy when they come up against the sixth-placed South Sydney Rabbitohs on Friday night, with the latter narrowly going down to the Panthers 16-10.
It was a slow start for South as they went into the half-time break scoreless before Alex Johnston and Isaiah Tass kept them in the match in the final 40 minutes.
There’s value to be found with the Roosters if you liked what you saw on the weekend, and with both teams 1-1, we’re happy to take the price.
