Tigers vs. Port
June 9th
It could be sayonara from a finals perspective for both teams should they cough this one up.
Tigers sit on the precipice of the top eight and Port is trying to keep the flame flickering on its season.
Ken Hinkley is starting to get a healthier list of players together and the return of Charlie Dixon coincided with a win against a lowly-ranked Essendon last weekend.
Richmond welcome back the very handy Noah Balta after he overcame a hamstring complaint, but it is still waiting for Tom Lynch to return.
The Tigers also have some added motivation with Dylan Grimes set to play this 200th game on Thursday night.
Yellow and Black army to edge out Port in a titanic struggle.
SUGGESTED BET:
Tigers -11.5 at $1.87
Bombers vs. Blues
June 10th
150 years of the Essendon Football Club will be celebrated at the MCG on Friday night when the Bombers take on the Blues.
No better way for Essendon to get its season up and about than a match against its arch-rival which comes off a narrow loss to Collingwood prior to the bye.
Essendon did show much more grit and determination after being held at arms-length by Port Adelaide and will now welcome back Jake Stringer and Matt Guelfi.
The Blues, too, have a huge number of ins to unveil with Harry McKay returning early from knee surgery, while Caleb Marchbank makes his long-awaited return to the field.
Matt Kennedy will provide a bit more grunt and power in the Carlton midfield.
These two teams rarely let us down in their encounters with each other, so expect a cracker.
Blues to pull away late in the piece.
SUGGESTED BET:
Carlton -16.5 at $1.89
Brisbane vs. St Kilda
June 11th
A potential finals rendition.
We are set for a rip snorter of a match when Brisbane takes on St Kilda at the Gabba come Saturday night.
The eyes of Lions fans all over Australia would have lit up at the inclusion of Joe Daniher into the senior after he was declared fit from a shoulder injury which curtailed his last month.
It means this Saints defence will be under the pump to hold of a forward line consisting of Daniher, Daniel McStay, Eric Hipwood and Charlie Cameron.
Jack Steele is missing from the Saints midfield and that issue may come home to roast against the best opposition they have played since he went down with an AC joint injury.
Lions will be too classy here.
