He scorched home up the middle of the track in a high-tempo race for BM-78 level and was only half-a-length away from Sirileo Miss who starts a very well backed favourite in the last on the card.
The wide barrier is perfect for him here with the rails likely to be off and horses drawn out deeper on the track to benefitted by firmer ground.
Expecting him to win this race by swamping his rivals down the outside with his sustained finishing burst.

Alcyone is building towards a big run this preparation and he has put the writing on the wall at his two resuming runs since being gelded and having the blinkers applied.
Ran a bottler behind Mr Brightside at Flemington last start when second-up over 1600 metres and that run is going to have him in a great condition to handle the rise to 2000 metres.
Gets the ideal trailing from barrier five and Damien Oliver is in Group 1-winning form at the moment.

Do not think we have seen the best of this filly just yet after her nice win in the Edward Manifold (1600m) at Flemington last start.
She is a filly who continues to get better with her racing and the wide barrier might actually suit her with the field likely to away from the rail as the day progresses.
She is clearly an Oaks horse given her staying pedigree, but there is clearly enough sharpness in her legs to able to sprint well in a Group 1 mile.
Look for her to be crushing the line out wide on the course.
