Best Bet - Race 7
1
Inkslinger $3.4
Inkslinger may have never run over the distance, but he looks to get the right set-up in this race.
He steps down from his last start effort in BM-64 grade over 1300 metres to 1100 metres at BM-58 level.
He got too far back from a wide gate in that race at Sandown which was dominated by the favourite who led all the way on a good track.
Given the heavy track we are likely to face in this race, it may turn into more a slog that requires stamina and fitness to be a big factor.
Inkslinger has the residual fitness to grind away on the wet surface and can hit the line hard to run the leaders down.

Kapalua Sunset $1.45
Kapalua Sunset looks a real Oaks type of horse after her debut over 1512 metres at Geelong.
The three-year-old filly by Tavistock hit the line very nicely when after settling in the rear half of the field from a wide barrier and is going to take huge benefit from that run.
She draws a wide barrier again, bit with the form Brett Prebble is in we are expecting to find a midfield spot with cover and then begin his winning from the 600-metre mark.
This race will be the confidence booster she needs as a juvenile horse as well as beginning to build her base for a her runs beyond 2000 metres.
Short price, but will be a sweet watch.

Bring Me Flowers $10/$2.5
Bring The Flowers failed in her resuming at Wangaratta 1100 metres, however she had a heap of excuses that day when starting a $3.2 elect.
The three-year-old filly copped a very heavy track and pulled up with lameness, so it was a complete forgive run.
This race will likely be run on a track less testing than the one she faced first-up and we will pay particular attention to her starting price last start as a marker of her talent.
We are taking a slight risk and trusting the Mick Price and Michael Kent (Jnr) stable has got her right heading into this race, but at the price it is hard to let her go around a loser.
