TRADUCE
TRADUCE ($7.50) has won his last two starts, the latest here when an easy winner at benchmark78 level. A repeat of that will be good enough for this. MASAFF ($6) won nicely at Ipswich last start and drawn ideally here – hard to beat. PRINCE OF ARRAGON ($3.60) made it three in a row last start at Doomben at this level ands Craig Williams rides again. Right in it. SAFIN ($25) finished runner-up to Masaff last start and could add some value to the exotics.
Race 2: 1500m

VOLCANIC ROCK
VOLCANIC ROCK ($2.50) Only wilted late when second first-up over 1300m at Rosehill and will be fitter here – looks hard to beat. PICK ZA BEANS ($14) impressed breaking her maiden at Ipswich last start and drawn nicely here. IT’S ALL TALK ($8) won last start over 1400m at Gold Coast but has a wide draw to overcome.
Race 3: 1300m

MISHANI HUSTLER
MISHANI HUSTLER finished third first-up over 1110m at Doomben and will be fitter here. Drawn one and lokks a major player at nice odds. RED CHASE ($5) Looks ready to peak after two runs back. Has won here and bets form on good ground. BOOMSARA ($8.50) finished well last start when first-up over 1200m at Gold Coast and well drawn here with Hugh Bowman aboard.
Race 4: 1000m

BOOMTOWN LASS
BOOMTOWN LASS ($3.90) won first-up last preparation and didn’t miss a place in four subsequent starts. Wide draw less than ideal but rates a big chance. USMANOV ($2.50) won last start over 900m at the Gold Coast. Has his share of weight but should be hard to beat. HAIL MANHATTAN ($21) is resuming but won his last three starts and gets blinkers for the first time here, Capable of running a big race fresh.
Race 5: 1200m

ZANIAH
VARDA ($4.80) won well last start over 1110m at Doomben and drawn nicely here. One of the main chances. ZANIAH ($15) was close up in the same race won by Varda and with no weight on her back she can run a big race. SPLINTEX ($2.90) won two starts back then not beaten far last start in the Doomben 10,000. THE ASTOLOGIST ($9) Ran on nicely last start when first-up in the race won by Varda and rates a chance here.
Race 6: 1500m

GOLDIFOX
GOLDIFOX ($8.50) goes around here on the minimum in first start for new stable and solid second last start at Doomben. Great each-way bet. GROUNDSWELL ($3.50) well beaten last start in the BRC Sprint after winning previous two starts. Hard to beat. CHARLEISE ($6.50) won last start at Rosehill and capable of winning this. LE CASTILE ($31) is an interesting runner. Has good form over further in New Zealand and first start for John Sargent.
Race 7: 1600m

IN GOOD HEALTH
IN GOOD HEALTH ($7) got a soft lead when making most of the running to score at Morphettville and well placed at this grade. Back in trip but drawn ideally and hard to beat. NUDGE ($5) finished best to win at Doomben last start and racing consistently – definite chance. NETTOYER ($6) quality mare who finished fourth last start in the Doomben Cup. Back in trip here but she should be in the finish. POLLY GREY ($7.50) won her last two starts and doesn’t know how to run a bad race. ROCHA CLOCK ($8) finished best to win at Scone last start over 1400m and one of the main chances. YAMAZAKI ($12) solid second over 1600m last start at Doomben and can run well at a price.
Race 8: 2200m

CHARMS STAR
This looks an even renewal of the Queensland Oaks. CHARMS STAR ($8.50) finished runner-up in the New Zealand Oaks than ran well at her first Australian start for third behind ONLY WORDS ($8) in the Doomben Roses where BARGAIN ($5) finished second and EASIFAR ($18) was fourth and GRACE AND HARMONY ($6) was sixth. Should be fitter here and one of the main chances. DUAIS ($6) finished second in the Australian Oaks where Bargain was third after winning the Adrian Knox at Randwick and will be hard to beat.
